The following will be difference travelling with us.
We encourage anyone who is interested in a tour to get in contact to discuss their requirements and expectations, so that we can give you suggestions based on our knowledge of the areas and time of year you would like to go- we can either talk on the phone or meet face to face to explore the options in more detail. We understand that it is often difficult to discuss plans during working hours so do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
We encourage you to question us freely about any aspect of the trip and we will provide honest and knowledgeable advice in return. We believe it is important that you have realistic expectations of our services, for example what is included in the cost of your holiday and any extra expenses you might incur.
We use experienced leaders on the tour whose responsibilities are to ensure you have an enjoyable, safe and interesting experience. Where possible we like to use local leaders/ Sherpas so that they can share their knowledge of the area visited and because you will be more likely to meet locals along the trail!
The minimum size for the majority of our tour is two members, with no additional small group surcharge, and the maximum is twelve. We prefer to have smaller groups because this puts less pressure on the environment and so that we can provide a more personal service to our customers.
On every trip our top priority is the safety and security of both our customers and tour staff. This begins at the planning stage from designing a well thought out itinerary to explaining in detail to our customers what to expect on each trip and any necessary preparations required.
Before each group arrives in the destination we monitor travel advice and the news networks to ensure there are no known problems occurring in the country.
All our guides are well trained and highly experienced in leading groups in the Himalayas, and in the rare case of an incident occurring on the tour they can organize a rapid medical evacuation. For our remote tour, where the nearest village might be a long walk, we take a satellite phone for communication.
On some tour we provide 2 way radios to enable the guide to keep in contact with others walking at a different pace, this prevents the need for the whole party to walk in one large group.
All our tour are good value for money- we provide an excellent service at competitive prices. We do not compromise on the quality of any aspect of the trip and always ensure our local staffs are paid a fair wage.
We are dedicated to responsible tourism with the aim that future travelers will see the destinations in a similar or better state than we have been able to.
One of our main criteria for selecting local partners and staff has been their approach in this area, in this way the positive effects of tourism are enforced and the local economy will develop in a sustainable manner.
Low volume and low impact traveling is one of the most effective ways of preserving the fragile areas we visit and provides more opportunities for contact with locals and for cultural exchange.
We do our utmost to work within the guidelines of the International Porter Protection Group (IPPG) and Tourism Concern.
We operate a trust account for all customers monies paid to Ace Express Trekking & Expedition to ensure it is protected and is only released on completion of the holiday
